Wells Communications

Wells Communications: It all began in the basement of Bill Wells’ house in the Town of North Greenbush, Rensselaer County, NY, in the late 1490’s. Bill Wells was working part time fixing TV’s and Radios as a hobby. This was back in the day, when two-way radios were not widely used. Most two-way radio users were Public Safety figures (Police). Shortly after WWII, the FCC only granted station licenses to a few business users. Taxi companies were one of the first industries to utilize two-way radios. Taxi companies were then followed by businesses that carried a perishable product, like Ready Mix Concrete, ice, etc. Bill Wells was approached by Motorola to become an installation and service provider for Public Safety Systems, in the Capital District of New York. In 1950, Wells Communication Service was established. The company grew as Motorola sold more two-way radio systems in the area. It has always been the purpose and goal of this company “TO MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU TO DO BUSINESS WITH US.”
